Why does my hotmail account send out spam to people on my list?
April 24th, 2007 | by hotmail |Dana C asked:
Friends of mine have been recieving links to various websites for products or services and it doesn’t appear to originate from MSN. I have another hotmail account which is just fine.
I’ve run Nortons antivirus, Lavasoft’s Ad-Aware, and Spybot’sSearch and Destroy but problems still remains. Any suggestions of what to do or try?

You should change the password to your Hotmail account. The problem will likely go away, as I once received a spam e-mail from myself. Changed the password, problem solved.
It’s most likely a case of adware, try updating and rescanning.
Or maybe a hacker? Don’t check “Remember my password” as this is how adware finds its way into accounts. Be sure your firewall is turned on.
