Both Yahoo and Hotmail, require a paid subscription for you to collect your email on another email service, such as Outlook. The free accounts have to be viewed on the email provider directly.

You can’t. I had my best friend come over, and we found the answer on yahoo and on microsoft. Usually you just have to put in your IP address, but if you have hotmail or a yahoo account, outlook is not compatible. I know, crappy! I’m still tyring to get used to not using outlook. Sorry!

good luck.. since yahoo & hotmail are free, they don’t have dedicated email servers - they have several servers to run on a web based platform. In order to add an account to Outlook, you have to have the incoming and outgoing server names.

If you use outlook express (the lighter version of outlook, most people use this) it has the hotmail interface built in.
As for yahoo, you do the same thing that the instructions tell you to do in the link above. Yahoo does charge for this service.
I also know that it is easier to set up in Outlook Express then transfer/export to ‘regular’ Microsoft Outlook

Well I think Outlook 2007 is different, since I did it last night. All you have to do is tell it your full e-mail address and password.
BTW I was about to post a question, and please read this BEFORE you turn Outlook on. The default setting downloads all your inbox to your PC. I have no idea how to get my mail back on YAHOO’s server. I cannot access my mail from anywhere anymore just my home PC. Does anybody know how to fix this?
