Hotmail user cannot receive mail from my home computer using my yahoo account?

This is a good friend and I want to be able to send/reply from home. Problem ongoing for most of 2008.

Sounds like a problem isolated to your local computer. Does there appear to be any connection problems? Its odd because yahoo mail does not technically involve your machine. All mail is sent and received by Yahoo mail servers so if you can login and send mails to others with no problems or even send an email to yourself with no problems it seems like there is something else awry.
The only thing I can reccommend is that you can perhaps try installing different browser if you are using IE maybe try firefox or Google Chrome?
