Say if I’m on the internet and there’s a link to an email address, I can’t click on it and send an email. It’s quite annoying actually. How can I make it so that I can use the link and have my outlook work with hotmail?

Make Outlook your default mail client.
    Tools Options within Outlook.

Go to Tools, Internet Options, Click on the Programs tab and there you can specify which program to use for your email. If you’d like to use your hotmail account when you click on an email link on the web, change it to hotmail, if other, change it. You can’t configure outlook to retrieve your hotmail account emails unless you are actually paying for an msn or hotmail account, not a free account, the same with yahoo or other IP service. Just the way it works. Good luck
