How can I have a hotmail shortcut on my desktop?

Matt C asked:

I know you can since I used to have it, but now I just have an IE shortcut. How do I get one that goes straight to hotmail rather than changing my homepage on ie7 to hotmail? I dont want to have two tabs either since I dont like having tabs open. One window per website is quite enough.

Create a favorite of the Website and copy it to your desktop

If you right-click on your desktop and then select “New Shortcut” in the location type in and then click Next. In the name box put in Hotmail (or whatever you want it to be called) and then click Finish. You should now have a shortcut that leads right to hotmail.

Actually this is probably easier than you think…

Just open up IE and drag the little page icon next to the URL onto your desktop. It creates a URL shortcut. You may need to right-click and edit the properties to point to a more valid URL though (like instead of!.a&dadp=dadsl or whatever)

Yep. Just right-click on your desktop, select NEW – SHORTCUT. Type, click NEXT, and name it something like “Hotmail” and click Finish. Try it…it’s easy! :)
