Is it possible to register a non-hotmail email for MSN Instant messenging?

I believe we used to be able to use non hotmail email accounts for msn registration, but I can’t seem to find it now. If anyone can help me in this, it would be great!

    if I’m am not wrong then you are asking how to use e.g.”xyz@abc.com” in msn messenger to chat with friends.
    Simply register your any non-msn email address on & u will be able to sign in it on msn messenger.

    u can use only hotmail and yahoo for MSN
