download firefox and add msn to the homepage of your firefox

I think you can do this by setting your default browser to Firefox. I have the same problem with AIM but I choose to keep IE as my default for various reasons.

I launch it from firefox in Firefox I launch MSN, from there I launch the hotmail and it opens in another firefox window You need to have Firefox set as your default browser

Just a guess but maybe setting firefox to be the default browser may help.. Take a look at the link in the sources section, particularly: “Note that MSN Messenger and other applications may be “hard-coded” to open Internet Explorer, no matter which browser is set as the default.”
It’s typical Microsoft to force you to use their browser.

has an option to open other “default” browser when clicked on “view email” in msn
