Can you get your hotmail email forwarded to your cell phone as a text?

Sebz asked:

I use hotmail for my primary email, so I was wondering, is there a way for my emails to automatically be transfered to my cell phone as texts? If not, is there any email service that allows this? My cell phone carrier is Alltel, by the way.

You can join Windows Live for Mobile:

    1. Sign in to the Windows Live Hotmail website with your Windows Live ID (The user name and password that you use to sign in to any Windows Live, MSN, or Office Live sites and services. If you have a Passport Network, Hotmail, or Messenger account, you can use it as your Windows Live ID.)
    2. In the upper-right corner of the page, click Options, and then click More options.
    3. Under Customize your mail, click Mobile alerts for new messages.
    4. Click Sign up for Windows Live Mobile – it’s free and easy.
    5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

From there, you can customize what alerts you receive and how.

Also, if you have a data plan with your phone, you can skip the text messages altogether and just log right into Hotmail normally from your phone. But since you asked about texts, the above directions to sign up for Windows Live for Mobile are probably the way to go.
