How would i delete an existing e-mail id in hotmail?

    Try emailing microsoft themselves from that ID and ask it to be deleted.

    go to View Your Account and then under Additional options there’s Close Account. Click on that. put your password accepting that your closing your account. After closing your accout, don’t loggin for some months. It’ll close. Usually it doesn’t close automatically.
